Evolution of EQ and Creative Capitalists

Emotional Intelligence did not just fall from the sky, as a brain child of a few psychologists.  For over 15 years there has been a growing demand for another approach to making a living.  That demand has come from a specific group, a community of professionals, graduate and undergraduate students, and the Do Over/ Do Next generation of entrepreneurs.

This community has, at its core, characteristics that set it apart.  They are interested in taking responsibility, giving back, making change, understanding their own emotional intelligence, and deepening their intuition.  They even have a name, Creative Capitalists, Cultural Creatives, or Innerpreneurs.

Corporate America began tracking this very powerful cross-section of our country about 10 years ago. Naming it the LOHAS market, Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability, marketing professionals quickly took notice that this group accounted for over $226 billion in market purchases! And it's still growing.

This emerging psycho-graphic is one of the less-understood, but important causes of the War for Talent around the world.  Organizations have discovered that "learning" is a well-intentioned aspiration, but it has failed to produce the holy grail of productivity, profitability, and resilience. However, organizations whose members have highly developed EQ are creating new platforms, attracting new talent, and surpassing their competitors at a steady rate.
